The delicate and pastel lawn collection by Farah Talib Aziz is inspired by the natural beauty and profusion of flowers found in abundance along the stunning coastline of Monaco, where the collections’ shoot was set and shot. The city’s legendary elegance and grace is embodied in the light pastels used and the hints of French architecture which is reflected by signature white windows. The flamboyant culture of the city is highlighted in the exquisite designs which are paired with breezy summer colours, that are fresh to look at.
Using premium quality fabric, the collection has weaved designs in to jacquard and lawn adding an additional design element to the cloth. This has been complemented by the introduction of 3-D embroideries, ‘single dhaagha’ embroidery, cutwork embroidered on organza as well as complimentary French laces that add to the perfect finishing and trimmings of the outfit.
Farah Talib Aziz commented, “We believe that lawn is the pret of Pakistan and should complement our climate and culture. Full of gorgeous feminine shades and motifs the collection which is easily wearable, strikes a balances between the elegance and practicality required in the everyday Pakistani dress.”
“Over the years we have made continuous effort and concentrated on research and development to bring the audience state of the art fabric which is of high quality. With our collaboration with Farah Talib Aziz, who is a renowned designer known for her aesthetic sense, we offer desirable products to the market that not only feel good to wear but also look glamorous,” said Rizwan Lakhany, Director Lakhany Silk Mills (LSM).
The early summer evening was abuzz with the designer’s friends and customers who make up the uber fashionable crowd of Karachi who walk and talk fashion. They all were wearing the very fashionable lawn in their signature ways. While one flaunted the delicately embroidered Fleurette Kiwi in its lime green colours and intricate laces, another walked in the Monaco Mosaic cross stitch never seen before classic outfit. The garden was filled with shades of the season bringing the blossoming spring to an end and the steamy hot but bright summer to a start.
The model for the campaign, the young and lovely Imaan Madani, carried off the entire collection with a certain panache rare for one so new in the modeling world. She said, “I love the fresh pastel colours, the feminine feel of the designs, and this collection in particular feels really European in its influences which are all things I love. I feel like people are really paying attention to the lower half of the ensemble from floral prints to different shapes and styles. Trousers and pyjamas are really having a moment!”
